The Red Edition : Autumn/Winter 2008
The Red Edition : Autumn/Winter 2008
This year International Gemstones Limited will be setting their stones against the backdrop of the most current fashion trends and giving them a setting they deserve. IGL will be
exhibiting Coloured Gemstones and Diamonds of all shapes and sizes. Having specialized in Rubies, Sapphires, and Natural Coloured Diamonds for over 50 years, they are able to show a fine collection of impressive stones in all colours. International Gemstones Ltd has called this 2008 show The Red Edition. With many designers dedicating so much runway to Red, Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Oscar de la Renta to name but a few, IGL feel quite at home with their Ruby element.
With the Paris shows also showing collections in Black and Grey this season, jewellers have the perfect backdrop to set off many bright colours effortlessly. Strong vibrant colours such as Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Gold are all brought to life against a black canvass. More subtle effects can also be rewarded with pastel colours delicately set against a dark background. Blues, Pinks and Purples also feature strongly with this season’s statement pieces; coats, hats, bags and shoes; see Dior by John Galliano. These colours can all be complemented by Blue, Purple, Pink, Green and Orange Sapphires as well as Fancy, Fancy Intense and Vivid natural coloured diamonds that IGL will be displaying at the show.
Finally, International Gemstones Ltd will be exhibiting their Brown, Orangey collection of Sapphires and Natural Coloured Diamonds. These colours find a perfect home with the paisley elements present in the collections of Hermès, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci. These colours are also well suited to men, especially in watches, rings and cufflinks. With so much of the market dominated by white (colourless) diamonds, many designers and retailers have forgotten that colour is the element of style that sets us apart from one another. International Gemstones Ltd is taking a proactive role in giving coloured stone jewellery a stylish and contemporary setting. Let us not forget that whilst it may take a little more effort to sell a coloured stone set piece of jewellery (Bulgari, de Grisogono, Cartier and David Morris may disagree), your profit margins will be higher, your identity will be stronger and your business more noticeable.
